Kambakkht Ishq Movie Review

Kambakkht Ishq - Nothing but a Gimcrack

Persistent flops on the row and Akshay Kumar had no big options other than jumping for the show of grandeur. With promos running high on the airs round the clock, certainly it let us perceive ‘Kambakkht Ishq as a plank meant to save him from lapsing. Oops! Kambakkht Ishq is perhaps a gaudy show. Of course, Sabbir Khan brings you the macho Akki ennobled by Denise as ‘Best Kisser’, Eel-like Kareena Kapoor in bikinis and what else? Biggest Hollywood stars on the screens. More than all, you’ve the best locations of Hollywood.

But does it really mean you can go ahead for the show? Definitely, but just gotta throw out your cognizance into dustbins. It really matter to watch this flashy yet an unexceptional flick of pettifoggeries between the sexes.

On the single take, ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ can be watched once to sit back, relax for the film has some hilarious moments that’ll turn you into a perfect thighslapper. May be Kareena and Amrita would have sent you transfixed with their skin shows. But you wanna know something? Kareena can better stop these acts as most of the audiences get chocked with these non-catchy quotients.

On the dot, Kambakkht Ishq is drawn from nowhere but from Kollywood’s ‘Pammal K Sammadam’ starring Kamal Haasan in lead role.

Kambakkht Ishq explores the relationship between two individuals as different from each other as chalk and cheese. No matter how many times they are pushed together, there are only fireworks... no fire. Viraj Shergill (Akshay Kumar) is a swashbuckling stuntman in Hollywood who lives by the mantra ''women are only good for two things... making love & making love'' Simrita Rai (Kareena Kapoor) is a firebrand who is more than able to stare down the most arrogant male with her caustic wit and sardonic tongue... he firm belief ''there's no such thing as love''. So what happens when the two people who hate each other the most meet at Simrita's best friend Kamini's and Viraj's brother Lucky's wedding? ...a wedding that both Viraj and Simrita are violently opposed to and desperate to stop. Sparks fly, accidents occur, And both are thrown together in the most absurd, hilarious situation until one dramatic twist of fate binds the two together in a manner that they could have never ever even dreamed of in their wildest fantasies. The battle of the sexes is on. Who is going to throw the punches and who is going to blow the kisses?

GAME SET ...BATTLE BEGINS

Hearty applause for Akshay’s breathtaking stunts and we’ve loved him for it, right? This man hop-skips with different emotions stupendously and scores 4/5 on it. But as mentioned above Kareena seems to be more adhered with skin shows. Kareena Trust us! Please don’t run your shows patently with it and you’re supposed to be an actress. Nothing to blame on Aftab and Amrita; they’ve lived up to expectations.

Sabbir does a good take on first half with more mirthful panoramas while the latter part is overwhelming with sentiments and emotions. Pardon him! The filmmaker takes you the fun-filled climax that will sprinkle us smiles.

Musical score by Anu Malik, Salim-Sulaiman are engrossing and moreover ‘Om Mangalam’ is quite more off an impressive show. Or else, you don’t more feet-tapping numbers. Cinematography is worked on best with eye-catching locales.

On the whole, ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ isn’t a much happening flick-to-be- sang appraisals off. And the simplified verdict would be... Watch it once and don’t recommend with loud word of voice.

But for this season, with no big releases slated on the forthcoming weeks, producers are sure to rejoice for the biggest collections in box office.

Verdict: Watch it once

Rating :** ½
